Goal 6: Improve institutional culture through teamwork
Most curriculum and course delivery initiatives implemented at DMC were a result of teamwork. Through our weekly math team meetings and joint collaboration, we implemented the following initiatives: the Skitch LBD project, the use of a standardized ALEKS notebook given to each student in the course, the sharing of timetables for at-risk students, and the math help room hours provided for extra remediation.
I led several small group discussion sessions during both PD weeks and also led an assessment writing team made-up of colleagues from campuses across the system.
Additionally, great care was taken to improve team-work between the math and english faculty. Course delivery plans were shared across disciplines, invigilation duties were shared across disciplines, and schedules were amended and hours swapped so that no class time was lost due to common exams.-
Finally, I took on the responsibility to amend the share point site specifically to allow greater ease in sharing resources and activities across the system organized by each individual learning outcome.
